LITTLE NEST POLYPORE

BLOG 24: The ‘Little Nest Polypore’ can be mistaken for bird nest fungi and even cup fungi (at its early stages, see cups in photo). It really does look shell-like, hence its latin name ‘conchifer’ meaning ‘shell-bearing’. This saprobic guy can be found in clusters on deciduous logs in North Eastern America from June-Dec. I took these shots in December 2018.
